Port Isabel Lighthouse offers low-cost K–12 tours about lighthouse keepers, coastal navigation, shipwrecks, and maritime history.

Schedule

School tours are available Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours take 1 to 1.5 hours and serve 10 to 60 students. Reserve at least two weeks ahead.

Cost & Registration

Tours cost $2 per student and $4 per chaperone. Grades K–1 need one chaperone for every five students. Grades 2–12 need one chaperone for every 10 students. Call, email, or use the tour request form at least two weeks ahead.

About This Deal

The Navigating History school tour introduces K–12 students to the Port Isabel Lighthouse and the people who kept its light. Students explore the Keeper's Cottage Visitor Center, learn how the lighthouse guided military and commercial ships, and can climb the tower when weather permits.
