UTRGV's Coastal Studies Lab offers free self-guided visits and low-cost marine science field programs for student groups.

Self-guided and guided programs are available by request. Most guided options serve 8 to 72 students and last 1 to 2.5 hours. Some activities have grade, age, group-size, or seasonal limits.
Cost & Registration
Self-guided tours are free. Guided options range from $4 to $14 per student. Most require 8 to 72 students, while some labs have smaller limits. Use the tour request form or contact the lab to select and schedule a program. The marine floating classroom is currently unavailable.
About This Deal
The Coastal Studies Laboratory on South Padre Island offers field programs built around its aquariums, collections, touch tank, beach, and working marine science facility. Groups can choose a basic guided tour or add hands-on topics such as marine debris, ocean chemistry, seaweed pressing, beach ecology, engineering, dissections, and fish printing.
