About This Deal
Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, a zoological and botanical park dedicated to conservation education, runs seasonal education programs that homeschool families can use: Spring Break Camp and week-long Summer Safari Camps (from age 4) with games, story time, zoo tours, and up-close animal encounters.
For groups, the Starlight Safari Sleepover (ages 7+) is a night at the zoo with a pizza party, flashlight tour, batty bedtime story, indoor camping, and outdoor breakfast — popular with scouts and other youth organizations, and a great fit for a homeschool co-op. Note: the zoo's discounted school admission rate is limited to state-accredited schools, so plan around general admission for regular visits.
